I just found this thread, pretty cool as I live not far from the Moon Rocks and one of my favorite rides is from Border Town to Verdi and back. =D>
You used to be able to hit a dirt road from behind the Chevron Station, belonged to the ranch there, and get to Peavine. I haven't been there in a long time so things probably have changed.

I am in the process of getting South Dakota street legal license plates. It is legal to be an out of state resident and have South Dakota plates. I emailed them, and yesterday they mailed me the 3 forms required.

I don't plan on driving on the street....but I definitely plan on using them on FS roads that require street legal vehicles and driving around town in Moab. I have a horn, lights, turn signals......beep beep.
