The cutoff date for nominations for the nobel prise is Feb 1st. Obama was sworn into office January 20th and then nominated before Feb 1st? What has he accomplished now let alone in the First 11 days in office that makes him even a nominee for the NPP?

As big as the name "Nobel Peace Prize" is, in reality it's just a politically appointed committee in Oslo, Norway that awards this prize. To me, it's sort of like the fame of winning something from Publishers Clearing House. Doesn't say much, really, for who you are.

It's become pretty irrelevant as a "prize" - as it's just one country's tiny select group's opinion. There are zillions of those all over, just with not as big a name. So, putting it in perspective, it's kind of a meaningless award...

I'm at the point now where I don't want to associate with any of those assholes in DC. I prefer to maintain common sense and decisions that make fiscal sense. There's a severe lack of that in our government these days - on BOTH sides of the aisle.
