Truck Broken into

Postby MrPolaris » Tue May 23, 2006 11:24 am

I have been taking my commuter truck that I have to the local train station to get on the train and come into the San Francisco for work. I normally drop it off Monday Am and pick it up again Thursday PM. Last week when I got off the train I saw a bunch of broken glass around the passenger side of the truck.

As I approached the truck I saw for sure that the passenger side window was busted out. As I went around the side I found that the driver side window was busted out as well . . . damn I was Pissed . . . As i was looking at the car I also noticed that my gas cap was removed and thrown into the back of the truck. There were some spots that looked like spilled fuel all around the fill hole so at this point assumed that they got my fuel as well . . . Then I realized that besides the windows, the joke was on them.

This truck is a 1983 Ford ranger with over 150k miles. My girlfriends brother used to drive it till he got his new Truck about 8 months ago. So basically it has been sitting for 8 months with a full tank of gas, no fuel preservatives. I have been trying to get the tank emptied so I could fill it with clean fuel and smog it. . .well these yahoos solved my issue of getting out the old fuel . . .

LOL...

I've seen the truck....it's a POS. I can't believe ANYONE would want to break a window unless they were just pissed.

when the cop took a police report he "claimed" that he had seen was there inthe AM as he was getting off his shift (about 7AM) and it was fine, so it happened between 7Am and 6pm, so whoever these yahoos are they did it in the middle of the day. . . that and not more than 20 feet form the truck was a sign that said area is under video recording. of course come to find out it was not, it was only in the actual train station. . .

Where did you have it parked? If you actually got someone to investigate it had to be Auburn or Colfax. I had a friend get his truck hit and was told they don't investigate vehicle vandalism in Sacramento County anymore

It was Auburn.

The funny thing is....He originally started taking the train to SF at the main West Roseville station in old Downtown....and figured Auburn would be safer for it to be there all week. LOL. Didn't count on the pot and meth heads hoping to score a killer AM radio....LOL.

I'm sure the market for AM radios is hot, Hell if a guy can score a couple dozen sweet AM radios and hooks up with the right pawn shop he can probably make $5 Do they even make just AM only radios anymore? Probably a collectors item

no this is a high class stereo, it has FM as well. . . they did steal one of the knobs though, or at least it is not on the radio now so either fell off, which is proably the case, or they janked it. . .

Yep, I am pretty much AM all the time. In fact my 3 month free service subscription ran up in the Chevy last weekend. . . Now Iam trying to figure out a way to make the system skip over the XM band when switching sources. . . every time the GF drives she changes to FM or CD and I have to go to AM, which requires me to scroll through XM1 and XM1, CD, and FM to get to the FM band. . .the 10 seconds it take me to do that is annoying. . .
