Wow Eric...I would have thought you would have had a chute in the closet.

Yeah...for YOU...I'd say it's a must.

I have ~20 static line (US Army) and 5 free fall now under my belt. I may get some more in this summer (money providing).

GG, as was mentioned, I too thought you would have done this already.

You would have won your bet Kendo, because I DO have a chute in my closet. Two, actually:

Image

That's my old emergency chute for hang gliding. I bought a newer one that has a swivel in the bridle, more-better because it is less likely to collapse from the canopy lines twisting up when me and the glider spin below it during descent.

We carry those inside a pocket on the chest of our harnesses. If the schumer hits the fan, you grab the big red handle, tear the chute out of the velcro-ed pocket (in it's deployment bag), and throw it out into clear air. Bag flies off, chute opens. Theoretically...

Neither chute has been used. Thankfully. Hopefully they never will be used. Conical chutes with no direction control, you just come straight down.

I'd be happy to sell that purple one to Ken for his next jump. Looks like it would match his jump suit quite well!

I am sure they will replace those if they don't work

Awesome vid, Ken.

Nobody dies having done everything, but you are definitely squeezing in as much as possible.
