Congress Says: $25M For New ATV Trails

Postby GrizzlyGuy » Fri Jan 30, 2009 3:52 pm

The stimulus bill passed by the House of Representatives includes $25 million for new ATV trails:

I doubt it will be in there after the Senate takes a whack at the bill, but we'll see.

$335M to combat STD's?????

$400M for global warming research????

OK, it's 2009 and people still don't know how to prevent STD's?? Sorry you're stupid and your whoha is leaking, but why should I the taxpayer have to pay for your shot in the ass??

Global warming - how much longer are we going to have to listen to this bullshit? OK, it's 1 degree warmer in the Hudson Bay, based on data retreived in 1909 from a thermometer of the same vintage - is there any room for error there?? POSSIBLY?!?!?!?

When I heard about his new stimulus package and his plan for employing people by funding these much needed infrastructure projects, I actually gave him a gold star. Now we're told that out of $819B that only $30B (3.6%) is earmarked for infrastructure??? Uhm, where the frig is the rest of the $$ going?

I'm revoking my gold star.

Yeah, and if Obama would give me a call I could save them $400M. Global warming is caused by THE SUN.

You know Mr. President, the gigantic ball of fire that hovers in the sky? Who'd have thunk it. OK, I guess even a cave man would have thunk it. Cave men didn't have to deal with Al Gore running around inventing the internet and spreading disinformation.

I heard on the radio this morning that Mr. Gore was recently spreading his global warming gospel in D.C. when the last storm rolled thru and there were 3 feet of snow on the ground. In Chicago, the same day, it was -20.

Global warming huh? I think those people would appreciate some of that because without it, it may have been FIFTY below and TEN feet of snow on the ground.

Dang, imagine how much more fossil fuel would have to get burned in Gore's uber-carbon-footprint mansion if that happened.

Now Barack's bunch says California vineyards could disappear if we don't stop global warming. Steven Chu must have learned his stuff by working for the Forest Service, writing equally fanciful environmental impact statements.

I say let the danged vineyards disappear: I'm a tequila man, that's great riding territory, so we can take the $25M from Barack's bloated bill to build a mess of new ATV trails in Napa Valley. :D

But wait, there's more.

"... the bill grants NASA $450 million, but it states that the agency must spend at least $200 million on “climate-research missions,” which raises the question: Is there global warming in space?"

Read more of this foolishness at National Review:

What a disaster! It's a giant pork pie!

And speaking of weather - did you guys know the Reno weather radar was taken out by high winds last December? 140 mph was the first punch, and a 95 mph gust on Christmas did the rest...

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/rev/current/KRGXDomeFailure.pdf

They don't have the ability to just order up a new one, they are trying to scrounge parts. The WSR-88 radars aren't made anymore and apparently the next generation is not in the pipeline either. I'm thinking the Weather Service needs a little economic stimulus... Or maybe they could take Beale's - we only need one in the valley, right?
