Nothing really, just the usual stuff. To tell you the truth I did not even vote on any of the initiatives. I was so wrapped up in the presidential election I did not have the wanting to figure out what I was voting for so I passed on those.

Don't even get me started on this one. The only farmer affected seriously by this proposition is egg farmers. Veal cows? Ok....so my veal won't be as tender, and will cost more...but this is seriously an upscale market ANYWAY! Pregnant pigs....I have no clue why they are caged small....but whatever...how long are they pregnant? So this is really a temporary cage change.
Eggs...that's a whole other matter....They are caged small so they can control where the EGG GOES! It's a no brainer. It keeps the egg clean and free of salmonella contamination. It's not just a cost issue...it's a health aspect.
The chicken will not suddenly feel like they have a more comfortable cage. "HEY...this is roomy! Now I can get that flat screen at Best Buy I've been eyeing."
So anyone who voted yes....all they really did was KILL the chickens they were trying to make more "comfortable". The farmers in this state, are going to kill their chickens for dog and cat food and either do something else....or move operation to Mexico where the conditions will be more deplorable.
I'm sure it felt like a good vote while checking the box....but the reality was it was genochickenocide. LOL.

Yes I voted
I talked to alot of my friends and it seemed some of them voted for obama just because they didn't want a republican, not reliezing that they are two completely differnt people. (I'm not trying to say one is better than the other and don't want to start another political war on the board.) But it kinda sucks as grown adults my friends don't look at what each canidate is all about, they assume that if they are republican that means they are like bush. WRONG....
Thats a common thing I noticed this election

I posted this on the other thread...but read this and it applies. We just saw a TON of ads....stating McCain was Bush. Fish said he voted with Bush 90% of the time...even though the President doesn't vote. He drunk the kool-aid.
Check out what Obama aides said TODAY....They didn't even make it 24 hours!!!!
Obama aides said they believed McCain would work well with Obama as president because much of his best work in the Senate had been done with Democrats, including a landmark campaign finance law he crafted with Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold and an unsuccessful effort with Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

It's funny you say this Fishy, because while you may not be directly impacted by the President, you most SURELY will be impacted by the initatives in your state. Personally, I thin kthe initiatives are way more important to me as a citizen than who sits in the big house.FishaHallic wrote:Nothing really, just the usual stuff. Ken, I understand the president does not vote, I was not born yesterday. If you want to twist my words to make it sound like I don't know whats going on go ahead but trust me I do know whats going on. You can look here for what I am talking about, but I think you know what I mean, for the life of me I don't know how you could not understand http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/i ... _with.html.Ken wrote:ATV'er wrote:Yes I voted

Yeah, I drove down the hill through about 6" of snow and became one of only 271 people in Nevada County who voted for... Bob Barr!
No point in voting for one of the other two guys, our 55 electoral votes were solidly in the bag for Obama.
P.S. - Fawk the chickens, I voted NO on that one.

Seriously? You think the President has more impact on your life than the propositions in your own state?FishaHallic wrote:Really, I don't believe that for a minute.Kendo wrote:It's funny you say this Fishy, because while you may not be directly impacted by the President, you most SURELY will be impacted by the initatives in your state. I completely understand what is says....but that percentage is virtually meaningless.FishaHallic wrote:Ken, I understand the president does not vote, I was not born yesterday. Unless you know, what all those "positions" were...it means nothing. If the President's position was rapists will now be sentenced to death....and McCain voted that way...is that bad?
Bush recently supported legislation that Obama was co-author or had his name attached..I'm not sure exactly his involvement. If McCain voted for it....that would part of your "evil" 90%.
You would have to go by Position by Position. Put all the positions you feel were Good in one column...and all the positions you felt were bad in another. Then check to see which ones McCain voted, to get ANY value out of that number.
There are literally hundreds of bills...each and every year. Only a VERY SMALL percentage, have anything to do with Iraq, the "economy", abortion...etc. Most pretty mundane....budgeting, appropriations, expiring law extensions...etc dominate day to day legislation.
