OK, so I am paying anyway. Hypothetically, if we didn't have any debt whatsoever, would I get 15 cents of my tax dollar back?? HIGHLY doubtful. Those a'holes in Congress would find some program to throw it at and help out their buddies. And don't kid yourself, they ALL do it, Dems and Republicans.

Step one - NO MORE LOBBYISTS!!!!!

Step two - NO MORE PORK PROJECTS!!!

Step three - Flat tax.

Step three A - eliminate the IRS.

Step four - pay back what you a'holes have STOLEN from social security.

Step five - no more two party system, you run on your own merit and that's that.

Step six - no more ridiculous congressional committees to look into things like steroid use in baseball - do I really give two shits????????

I could go on, but I think you get the point. It's time the government was run like we had some sense about us. If it were a business, we'd be belly up. Because they have a steady source of income (income tax) that NEVER goes away, they can 'afford' to be quite careless with our money.

What should happen - IMHO - is we should elect someone that has absolutely no party ties, no special interest contributers and little government experience. Then they should appoint the CEO's and financial managers of top producing companies, in this country, to run the various operational functions of our country.

And if you are caught with your hand in the cookie jar or doing anything considered to be corrupt in any way, you go to jail, not the country club minimum security white collar one either, you go to prison, right next to bubba and jethro the murderer and rapist.

from the same site you grabbed the chart......

"Some want to blame the President for whatever condition our economy is in. But The President has little power to affect our economy. However, Congress DOES! Here is more about it from another person's viewpoint. The U. S. Economy is now in serious problem. It started with this last Congress, and we were doing so well. Here is one example: Congress mandated ultra-low sulfur content in diesel fuel. That pushed the processing cost way up, and now diesel fuel in the U. S. is the most costly fuel on the planet. Diesel fuel is the basis cost for everything; it's how everything get to the store. This was a serious blow to the economy and hits low income earners more that anyone else. So who is in charge of the current Congress? Republicans or Democrats? You figure it out!!!!!!"

Step Three - Strict Term Limits with NO Retirements to politicians. It's a service to the country, not a career

Everything else will settle out

And remember, just a few days ago...McCain was "Bush"....Right? Now check out what they're saying.

Obama aides said they believed McCain would work well with Obama as president because much of his best work in the Senate had been done with Democrats, including a landmark campaign finance law he crafted with Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold and an unsuccessful effort with Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
