Yeah Ken, you know those 27's will actually measure out to be 28" tall right? Are you sure you want to go that tall? 26's will be like 27" tall. :?

With the Bighorns you are correct. The 27" Dirt Tamers measure just over 26.5"

I've got a set of 26" and a set of 27" Bighorns, neither measure that large. When NEW, the 26's were 1/4"-1/2" taller and the 27's about 1/2". After about 30 miles they were almost dead on the stated sizes. I think when they're first installed the tend to stand up, but once they are rolled the lay down.

Thanks for the heads up. I measured my buddy's 26" Bighorns after they were installed and they measured close to 27". That could have been partialy what you described and partialy they were over inflated.

Wise choice Ken, I may step it up to 26's the next time myself. The evaluation of the three sizes that I posted, the guys says tight trails were a bear with the 27's and 26's did seem to be the favored size for trails.

i believe that the hard steering talked about on the tight woods trails may be from using aftermarket wheels. more offset can affect handling, and would be difficult to seperate that from tire related handling. (in fact i just looked at the review again and there is now a disclaimer talking about offset rims having an effect on the results)

i have ran both 25s and 27s on stock rims and if anything i have to say that the 27s are as nimble at low speeds. higher speeds is another story.

Hmmm..........Very good point there! I had similar experiance with my race quad w/ offset wheels......Now I'm wanting 27's for mine. (On stock wheels)

You can't run 26 or 27 (9" wide) on Polaris stock offset. Though the ITP offeset is just enough and more favorable than stock using with spacers.

Yes..on the tie rod end....rubs the rubber cap off.

With an 8" tire, the polaris offset probably gives you about 7/16" clearance. Add 1" wider (1/2" on each side) and you have 1/16" rubbing. It's really close...but enough.

I decided to try the radial version...just to check it out. I definitely have my opinion...and ya'll know it. :) So I thought I'd see for myself...and then I can write a review.

Glad to hear, I do think you will like them. I wondered if the GNCC series just hyped them alot, but they have been really good to me. If I didn't 2 up all the time, I'd run 27's, but like being lower with a passenger.

I really glad to hear you like them. As an extreme trail tire, they are really hard to beat!
