Holy cow, how much gear do you need for an overnight trip? Here is all the gear I was carrying on a 6-day trip (we stopped for gas every two days):

Loaded up on an overnight trip, but also carrying 3 video cams and associated video gear:

If you need a trailer full of gear just to spend a night in the woods, watch out, you may be turning into Kendo! [-X

Maybe we have the same background: did you do backpacking? That teaches you what you need and don't need in a hurry. I once wandered around Desolation Wilderness for 6 days with just that green backpack that is on my front rack in the first pic. I even had an entire low-power ham radio HF station in the pack. Way too much crap, I could have half-filled the pack and been fine.

I actually carry all that I need for an overnight trip in my rear bag at all times. No sleeping bag, but with a tent and plenty of clothes you really don't need one. I add a bag and the gigantamous round Cabela's pad if I know I'll be camping just for the comfort factor.

Beer is too bulky so I go with tequila. Actually pre-mixed margaritas in a chilled Sig bottle. Yummy and I'm usually passed out by dark: :P

Those trailers are cool, but they slow you down and limit your mobility. I'd still like to have one (or have you guys have one) for a ride from here to Oregon and back. I can't find enough gas stations along any route I've considered, so being able to carry an entire expedition's worth of gas in one of those trailers is the only way I can think of to make it possible (other than stashing gas along the route which would be a hassle).

Thanks for the pix G.G.!
Not sure what gas weighs... but I know water is 8.4# per gallon... ... so 40 gallons of "water" would weigh in at 336# for example, not counting the weight of the trailer! Add another 100#s for beer, ice, and tri-tip... Did you pack a bbq and fuel into the equation? :D

No Eric...no backpacking.....BUT...I've been camping in my Jeep since the early 80's.....There's no room in that bastard.

I bring a few beers....and my water filter....then I have unlimited water. :)

LOL, yeah, gas is pretty heavy. According to Wikipedia it is 6 lbs/gal. But hey, I figured that you mechanical types would work out all the mechanical details related to your fancy-pants trailers and I'd just ride along and navigate. :P

BBQ-ed Tri-tip? Fuhget about it. I like to eat stuff that looks the same going in as it does coming back out:

Unless you habitually shit onto green plastic plates, there's still not much chance of confusion.

EXACTLY! I dont intend to lug a trailer around all day... just want to get my ice chest, bbq, air matress, tent, camp chair, guns and ammo, electric blender, explosives, perimeter fence, striper pole, solar powered disco ball, 2 midget hookers, 5gallon toilet bucket, ect. into wherever I set up "camp" at which point I plan to unhook, set up camp, and then head out to explore some trails with just the atv and the contents of its hardbox (guns and beer mostly)!

Boy, this tire and wheel thread sure got side-tracked
