clutch removal tool?

Postby BearCat » Tue May 16, 2006 9:59 pm

Can anyone give me the measurments for the "Primary clutch removal tool" if its just a standard bolt with the end turned down??...I can make one at work. I've ordered the 800 primary and belt(woohoo) and want to be ready for when it gets here.

Thx. BC

The threads are 3/4" SAE NF or 3/4 16 pitch.
I take a 1/4" extension with a small socket and put that in first.(small socket must be larger than the bolt you removed as not to slip into that hole the bolt was removed from)
I can measure mine to night if you wish?
I had a .600" rod made and just a 4" 3/4-NF grade 8 bolt for a removal tool.

Mine is 4.210 inches US  long
I sure MrM will chime in...
Don't forget about grade 8 or better. That inside of the clutch in hard as ...well you know.
I put a bar in the clutch to stop it from turning and wrench the bolt and do a little tapping on the head of the bolt with a very small ballpin hammer. not to hard that is your crankshaft. It is just a tapper fit like some of the bits at work you might have.
