$1300 for "Shipping and Set-up" Please....

Postby Ukau » Tue Aug 24, 2010 4:34 pm

So I have been shopping around for a new XP 850 and found a place in southern CA with XP 850s with EPS for $7500. Not a bad price....The out the door price? $9600??? Tax and licensing I understand but "shipping" and "set-up" fee of $1300..Please. I shipped a Audi S4 from Chicago to Sacramento for $580. An ATV cannot be that much. Also, what is the "set-up"? Rolling it out the trailer and parking it? Sorry for the rant....

$9600 is about the price for an 850. So it sounds like they're trying to pull some stunt to get people hooked in...then switch.

Personally....that's not the type of place, I would do business. If I have a dealer that's going to be there, take care of me when I'm in a jam....vs. a "scammer" that is only interested in moving machines and then on to the next one....I'd rather pay a few hundred bucks more, and get some loyalty and service back.

Thanks. Its a quality machine for sure. The power steering takes getting used to though. You can turn the wheels with 1 finger in park. You can get yourself in some trouble around corners, because the steering is so responsive. Gonna take it out on the trails tomorrow.
