Sorry jack jumping will only read zero on the pod. it sends a pulse at each rev. or a number ofpulses per rev. of the front wheel.
One wire powers the sender the other sends a pulse back. You would need a signal generator at 5 volts peek if I remember right?

Tranny

Postby CuriousG » Tue Mar 17, 2009 5:15 pm

Ok here goes...its a two part question.

First off. Is it normal that when coming down a gravel hill for the engine braking to slide dangerously down the hill if going fast enough?

Second one is...where on earth do I check the tranny fluid on this thing?

PS: MrBill...could you send me the fluids maintenance part of the manual? THanks again guys!!!

First thing in the morn. A couple more emails you will have the hole thing
I think jack can speak for the back wheels locking up when going down hill.
Most of us use high for going down hill.
It a Poo Poo thing. :D
There is a fill plug on the side of the trans. It should say "fill"
You know you are hosting a ride if we all make it to costa Rica

Obviously!
There is a group of around 20 or so that usually go over the mountains near my home to the Panama border. The trip is usually 3 days with stops along the way at some incredible beaches. Quads are street legal here in Costa Rica!

Yes...that's normal. The engine brake is only the rear wheels..so if they lock up...it will get squirly.

Tip...no matter how steep...use High...and tap gas if it gets goofy.

Tranny....It's mid way...on the RIGHT side (if you were sitting on it). There's a drain, and a fill plug....almost inline with engine drain...just toward right side.

Why does it appear that on the rear brakes there is only lines running to the right side and the left side appears to not even have a brake?

Do to the full time locked rear diff. You only need a brake on one side.
