Dusty try this
"Transmission gear selector switch could be the problem. You can check this by using the diagnostic mode screen 4. Once in the gear circut diagnostic toggle through the gear selections until you get the reverse gear switch input and read the the ohms reading. It should be 75 Ohms when in reverse.(a 10-20% varience is allowed). If your readout is not good then the trans switch is bad and interferring with AWD.
Also check for a loose connection at the 16 pin connector at the speedometer.
