right belt but now it's run funny

Postby Spritemaster » Sat Dec 09, 2006 11:51 am

Awhile back I shredded a belt on my SP500 and got a new one of a local guy. He said it was a Polaris belt and it looked alot like the old one so I figured that they were universal but I called the guys at the dealer around here and they said I had to get an EBS belt. So I did and I didn't put it one forever(cuz I wasn't going riding at all so I didn't have the need). But I finally got it on and now I think that it's running funny. Whenever I hit the gas it doesn't want to kick in for a couple of seconds. There just isn't as much throttle response or power it seems like since I put it on. I did flood everything last time I rode but I got everything cleaned out so it should be good right?

When you installed the EBS belt could you read the Polaris and part number on the top of the belt standing on the left hand side of your rig. These are one-way belts. Perhaps it is on back wards?

I can't remember but I'm pretty sure I put it in the right way.

Isn't that strange. I have no idea why that happens when the belt is on backward.
