I checked out a power pack this weekend and it came with a K&N intake and Outerwears filter cover and a jet kit for like $130.00 at http://www.4atvtires.com/atvTires/showP ... cat_id=162
and I was wondering why they offer jet kits as performance parts if their only supposed to help with altitude changes. I was thinking about buying this kit but if the jet kit isn't worth it then I won't I'll just get the filter and stuff but if it does somethin else that is going to help me out then I'm all over it.

That sounds expensive.


Hotseat Performance sells the DynaJet kit for 59. I don't think a K&N is another 59.

I could make no claims, one way or the other, if the DynaJet kit would help that much at sea level. The kit...I THINK...had 3 elevations.. 0-3000, 3000-6000 and 6000-9000. I put in the middle kit, so my performance at sea level wasn't horrible, as it would have been with a 6k to 9K kit.


I'd start off with the filter first....It was VERY difficult for me to say..."this kit was GREAT at sea level" Because while installing the kit...my carb was filthy....I cleaned the crap out of it....and yes..it seemed a little more responsive at sea level...but I couldn't say if that was KIT...or just dirt removal. :)

I did however...notice a big difference at 6000 feet.

So let me get this all staright you say that buying the jet kit when I don't go above 3000 ft. is stupid. Right? That's cool But then why do they promote them? That's what I'd like to know. Because if I buy package deals that saves me $. And I checked out that website and their stuff is pretty cool but a little pricy for the parts I want.

No...I'm saying...I'm not AWARE of any gain....but I did notice mine ran better at Sea Level after I did it...but I don't know if that's because that I had cleaned or from the kit...kinda unsure.

an adjustable jet kit would make a difference at higher elevation, It would alow you to lean down your jetting some. on our sleds (snowmobiles ) we have a system called Veriflow, it works off the engine vacuum, with an adjustible orfice, (manual click) to set jetting for just off idle to max pull.
changing the primary clutch I dont believe would make much difference, now changing the clutch weights and spring would, because you can adjust engagement, and low, mid, and max rpm. changing the secondary clutch would make a bigger difference if the clutch sheves were of larger diameter, it would also have to fit inside the cover we have. changing the spring on the secondary clutch would change shift rpm (when it opens to let the belt run down inside) changing the helix would control how fast or slow the secondary clutch, shifts up, or back shifts. tighting the secondarys spring, would force the clutch to hold a higher rpm before it shifts, and raise the overall rpm somewhat. will have to take the atv apart and maybe try somethings. might be fun.

sorry you asked, why do they market jet kits along with package deals, or something like that, any time you increase air intake you lean down jetting, a jet kit would richen up the jetting to make the air fuel ratio correct again, I myself dont believe in just putting on an aftermarket air cleaner without adding the exhaust also, along with a jet kit. If you add more air, more fuel, it has to get out. just me though.
