problems getting to winch
I've got a 2500lb. Warn on the front end of my SP 500 H.O. and it's really difficult to get to the knob to turn the winch to free spin(especially when everything is a foot underwater), so usually I just run out the winch to the closest tree and go from there. I'm getting really tired of doing that. Anybody know of a way to mod the mount for the front bumper area so that it's easy to get to the knob? It's driving me crazy using my winch that much.

First off Spritemaster Welcome aboard!
With your 01 Sportsman you have all kinds of steel up front and you should be able to move the mount to the front just below the front rack , It will be up front but in the deep shit you can get to the hook.

I can get to the hook and everything just fine. It's the knob on the side of the winch that I can't get to so I can never put it on free spin. It drives me crazy when we go hit deep holes because I get stuck alot. For some reason I have a thing for hitting the holes that everyone else says " Who in the world would be dumb enough to hit that". No what I mean? Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome, BTW...
I know...it's a tight fit....I think I'm going to get the Montana Jack's Winch Receiver system....can use the winch front or rear...no sweat.

You are talking about the two tube bumper right? You can cut away. Don't cut into the main uprights on each side of the radiator screen.Spritemaster wrote:I thought about cutting into the bumper mount. Just cutting a hole big enough so that I can get down there and flip it. What do you guys think?
