Just placed an order!!!

Postby Joey2 » Sat Apr 29, 2006 7:13 am

Just placed my order with www.Quadovator.com

1. Temp gauge kit with a thermostat housing that is already drilled and tapped.
(I spoke with Greg on the phone about the light on the face of the gauge. I only want it to illuminate when the headlights are on. He added an extra wire so I could connect the hot wire from the bulb to the headlight switch. But he mentioned that if I did that then it would only illuminate when the low beams are on. This could be corrected if I bought the three headlight mod. I planned on this mod anyway, so it will be possible to have it illuminate only when the hights are on).

2. Three Headlight mod kit.

3. Reverse override Mod kit.

Grand total = $120.00.

Not too bad. If I decide to send them the original (non drilled) thermostat housing back they refund $20.00 (like a core charge). I may just keep the original housing as a back up. I don't know how much Polaris charges for it but I'm sure it is more than 20 bucks.

Hey Mr. Bill, I wanted to take pics of the installation of the parts but I forgot to bring the digital camera with me. But the good news is that I finished all the Mods today and they work great. I'll take some pics of the gauges tomorrow.

What did you use to cut the hole in your pod cover?
Did you get the gauge light to work with the headlight?

I bought the paddle bits for the drill. Used the 1 1/2 circle, you will still need to hone it out some for it to fit.

And yes, I hooked it up so that it will only work when the lights are on. More details to follow.... (at work).
