I just purchased and installed a warn 2.5 winch. What a bitch to install, I should have payed the dealer 50 bucks to do it. Do all you guys like your 2.5 winch

Yup...Works great. Warn is, in my opinion, the best company. I've had a couple friends have issues....broken remotes...and they fixed 'em.
Where did you get the mounting bracket?

I got the winch and mounting kit off ebay. the mounting kit came from discount atv for 37.00 and 10.00 shipping. the winch, I forget the name of the company but it cost 212.00 and 25.00 for shipping. the mounting bracket is the exact one that comes in the polaris kit and that company has them on ebay all the time.

did it come with tthe handlebar swicth and fairleads too?
thats a good deal..I paid like 400 from the polaris dealer for mine, for the whole kit.
I am thinking I need a remote, for some reason, i would feel...safer with one..
mine took about 3 hours or so to install, once i figured out how to get everything off, putting it back together was easy..if i had to do it again i bet it would only take 90 min or so.

Jack and I together, can do one in about an hour. He does all the wiring, and I do the disassembly and reassembly.
Jack makes a nice bracket, to put the wiring junction under the seat. Stays pretty clean and dry.

really? where at under the seat?
mine is mounted more in the left rear wheelwell where i found a spot that looked liike it was made for it. had one empy hole and i had to back out one bolt on the frame and it fit right in.
seems the power cables they supply are a bit long too.

I got my Warn 2.5 with the bike when I purchased it. 2.5 Warn, handle bar switch, fair lead and mounting bracket. Free with the bike. The only hitch was $69 cdn to install. It's paid for it's self numerous times. Oh ya it was free........
