aftermarket box hold-down?

Postby BearCat » Wed Oct 26, 2005 9:53 am

Hey All..
Here's an idea for anyone who has an '05 Sportsman. I bought an aftermarket cargo-box but hate to have to use the straps to hold it down. I took some 5/16"x2" long steel pins and welded 5/16 cap screws to the pins.(these need to be welded "offset" and the heads of the screws need to be ground down to fit properly) using the "half-moon holes" that are on the "C-channel" Hard to explain LOL so I took some pictures. Small foam blocks hold the screw upright while you put box in place. Then some large flat washers and a nut pull everything together. The straps can be removed or used to hold other things to the quad.

Bear.

That is made by "Diamond Plastics" out of Alberta,Can. I have seen it on various sites. If I find any links I'll post them. The center lifts out leaving a second seat.

Is it tough to get the Polaris seat off? Looks like the box overlaps the seat?

Once you lift the center section out the seat bottom on the box folds up towards the back leaving the Polaris seat unubstructed.
