ATV Winch

Postby MrPolaris » Tue May 10, 2005 10:28 am

ok, it is about time for me to suck it up and get at least one winch so that i do not have to rely on the rest of the riders for their winch. . .

Any reccomendations? what should i be looking for?

What sort of weight pull should I get? what about mounting plates?

Warn 2500lb. Check with your POS Honda dealer for mounting....I have no clue where the rincon can put a winch.

I doubt a 3k will fit on that....I'm struggling to visualize a 2.5k on it.

I would go for the Ramsey 3K just for the wireless remote.

It would be great to run the winch from the hook end sometimes.

Looks like a great winch. I found on a few sites that it is pretty easy to mount the winch on the rincon, just will have to buy a 65 bone mounting kit. . .

I like hte wireless, but hte more I look at it, I would loose the remote control for it I am sure. . . I think that having the rocker switch would be better.

Any one else have some advice? I found the winch on ebay New In Box for 275 for the 2500 and then 319 for the 3000, what is better (Other than getting a new Quad)

what things have you heard? Do you know if you can get the wireless to work with both a toggle switch and a wireles controller, cause in that case might be worth it. All the sites I read it never mentioned if you could use both or wire both.

I had a Ramsey 3000 wireless on my Rincon and it worked great. It's setup for a toggle in addition to the wireless key fob. I'm planning on putting it on my Grizzly this year when I have time, to replace it's old Warn A2000.

The wireless feature is awesome... makes it very handy.

It comes with it... it's a basic toggle switch you could get anywhere, though.
