CB on ATV's

Postby The Modfather » Tue Mar 02, 2010 9:26 am

Anyone have recommendations for a CB on an ATV/UTV? I am not sure how well they'd hold up w/ the bumping, dust, and water - but wanted to hear from anyone who had (or has had) one on their rig.

I have a hand talk unit. Cost about $50.00.

But after one year relizing that the dont work to well I got my ham radio licence. You can use it on Simplex which is out a repeater and it will work really good. If you get on a station with a repeater you can go along ways plus its a life saver in a time of need.

No code tech license is easy to get.

I've put a CB on a quad and with a few modifications, can work quite well. It's a lot of work to talk to your riding partner(s) though.

Check this out from Ken:

That sounds like a neat way to go as the class is being taught by off-roaders for off-roaders.

Do this NOW!! this class is going to fill fast, I have a feeling...especially after the recent accident on the Rubicon.

I will be teaching another class in October 2012. Space is limited so if you are interested in taking the class, email John Arenz at John.Arenz@RubiconTrailFoundation.org. John has started a list. At Jamboree this past week I was approached by several people wanting this class after Rachel's rescue.
