I got 4 more now that makes 6 for a adventures. Thanks you you'er best :)
I use silicon on the threads it seem to work better but that was on the first 2 I got and so if you need some let me know I will mail you a jar girl :)

Vulcan, what was the cost from Utah. I may buy another. ? Can you fit 6 tanks on your bike?
Hellcat650
You can stack all 6 on one rack if you want to but I use 2 per rack that seem to work the best for me. I also found putting a soft towel or wet suit material under them helps a lot so they don't get ware marks on them. I can say one thing if you roll the quad the tank is not going to bust. The wife roll the 600lb grizzly and landed on the rocks and the tank held up great and we are still using it not one problem.
Thanks for info. V.

I guess that is what the plastic smell like after sitting around for a year anyway like you said the threads had some funny stuff on them. I cleaned that jukn off :) put the silicon lub on them and now we are good to go :)
They were scuffed a little from shipping no big deal but they were new :)

Well, I now have some of the older style 3.7gal and the newer 4gal.

After putting lube on the newer style, I've yet to see any leaking or issues with the new venting cap.

I've not yet used the older style, but anticipate putting both to additional testing mid-Feb. when we head into Logandale, NV for some offroading.

Here, its been in the low 20F and much snow, so heat may play a role in the testing.

FYI, I painted the newer 4gal. in a camo. pattern to match my Kawi. Brute Force's paint scheme.. Looks great! :D

Cool I did not know that.

I sure was glad to get them and at a super price but the smell will go away real fast after one gas wash :)

Update:

We're riding this weekend in Logandale Trails, Nevada. Temps here are in the mid 60's and low 70's (while its still snow covered and freezing at home in Utah).

The new Kolpin is starting to show strange bulges as evidenced by my camo paint poppping off in the locations where the flat pack is "bulging". I can't imagine what would happen in 100F temps.

Meantime, the old style (3.7gal) on the wife's ATV is still holding up just fine without any bulges.

As indicated in this thread, stock up on the older style Kolpins.

Final update on these new style Kolpin's:

Went riding today in Logandale, NV, with full sunshine, temps in the mid 70's and after parking the quad to lunch, I could hear (fairly loud) the plastic expanding (violently). Decided to move the quad into the shade, took the container off the rack and allowed it to vent, then drained the fuel into our 3 quads.

Guess that one needs to go or be returned to Sportsmans (I wonder if they'll take it back).

Again, I can't imagine what would have happened at 100F (as is normal in late Spring/Summer).

Didn't I read that somebody had one of these that blew up? I can imagine that if it were hotter, this thing would have ripped apart or at least blown a hole/seam.

I have two of the good old flat packs, trying to get two more.
If unable, what do you think of getting the 14gl portable gas tank then refilling? (14gl tank is $80 at Costco)
