rope in place of cable

Postby ash2042 » Sun Oct 10, 2004 8:26 am

Has anyone seen the blue rope for use on winches that is supposed to be stronger than the steel cable? I have seen it on ebay a few times, I think it would have roll up on the spool alot better.

I think it is called amsteel. Do a search on ebay and go to best-bargainz ebay store.

ya, i am considering some of that atv winch rope for my winch..my cable has some kinks and loose strands that always seem to find a way to puncture it's way into the hand.

Yeah I know the feeling..... I've had some great punctures (in my hands) myself. I've learned to wear heavy gloves and to hold the cable and not slide my hands along it.

Try okoffroad.com . They have pretty good info and prices. I will be buying some soon as my cable looks nasty.
