I was going to call them to see if they had any slightly blemished 900 plus in stock with the 3 channel, I sure have been wanting another set since my sledding days when I used them last. Do they make a user programable one yet or do you still have to have them set the channel?

Sorry..I'm moving and just got my wireless up...

Mack....you can not change the frequency. It comes preloaded with public frequency. We have a private channel, which you're more than welcome to put your radio on.

So, do these work like a walkie-talkie type thing or is it on all the time so you can hear everyone talking as you are going thru the trails? Either way would be ok, it's nice to communicate without having to pull over.

It's on all the time....but it's like a walkie talkie.

The speakers are in your helmet (having a removable liner helps). The mic curls around and should be just in front of your lips. Then when you want to talk...you just talk. It's voice activated and the key is the mic. It doesn't pick up the engine noise and you can talk while you're riding. No stopping required.

Got both of mine hooked up tonight. Pretty sweet. I walked down a few blocks away and could hear Debbe perfectly. The ONLY thing I am a little dissapointed in is the fact that the battery pack is seperate. I understand the reasoning for warmth for snowmobilers, but I just wish it was attachable at least to the unit. I am used to the Chatterbox communciators from the Sport Bike riding days. Other than that, I am pretty happy so far!

It is a bit of a hassle...but it's separate for a couple reasons...

Snow like you said...and getting too cold...and weight. My neck is sore enough after a long ride without adding a battery.

What Jack and I do...I have a fanny pack that I wear...my battery is inside...and I loop a camera case through it...so my camera is right there and can't fall off (do not use cases with velcro..make sure it is stitched.)

I was thinking about velcroeing the battery to the opposite side of my helmet to offset the weight of the unit on one side

I put the clip on the battery and slid it on the front strap of my hydration pack. while in downieville yesterday ,I found out that the radios still work pretty good after you break the antenna off  but I was able to talk to mike for hours after pulled windbreaker over helmet and snapped it off.
