Keith there are plenty of taps you can catch inside the headlight pod, but before you do that consider this.....The Magellan power cable snaps into the RAM mount. I haven't been able to get mine out. Dusty has the same problem, once that cable is secured into the mount it's in. There will no way you can take the mount loose from the cable.
I ordered mine from a guy on eBay, I wish they would make a power only, like Ken mentioned in another post they have the USB cable attached on all the Magellan XL cables

What I did....is cut the USB part off....and bought a second cable...just for use on the computer. My mount will likely be unable to remove....so I just got another cable.

the first one looks correct, and without the USB so that's a bonus for the quad. The second one sounds like the factory one with the USB, but the picture they show is wrong, I'd stay away from that one
