Washington to Alleghany November 1st

Postby Rubicon_Rider » Sat Nov 15, 2014 5:39 pm

A group of us planned a ride and were hoping for sunshine but our hopes were dashed but we rode anyway. When we headed out it wasn't raining but it rained on us off and on. We prepared for the rain when we set out but we still got drenched, it was cold and miserable. Washington Hotel had a halloween party that i skipped because i was too tired and sore after the ride but the other guys went and had a good time.

here is a video of the trip.

We love that place it is great place to stage. Lots of places to ride but all forest trails leaving Washington are closed to non-licensed vehicles, we got a warning by a forest ranger when we were there in September.

Nice! (except for "the crash") If you're prepared for the rain, it's kinda fun being out there in it.

So this is interesting. I talked to Tom Quinn the FS Supervisor. He said his guys aren't enforcing the closure.....the roads Gaston and Relief Hill are County roads...he can't close them. They are "closed" due to County law...so really the only ones that can give you a ticket are CHP, Sheriff and FS LEO (they have the lights and guns)....the regular Green truck FS people....can't give you a ticket.
