Red Oak // Sunnyside Mdw Ride

With all the talk about the Sunnyside Mdw area. I desided to make a day ride up there. Had things to do today so No caming. I love this area. It not very big but if your into hiking their is a lot to see.

Wow Silvertip, those are some fantastic shots! I need to get into that area sometime and climb Bunker Hill and Rattlesnake Peak with my ham radio gear.

How did you get there? Were you coming from the west via that trail that runs along the north side of Bunker Hill? Or did you go north from Downieville on that road that goes over first divide and second divide? I've never been on that one, or the trails that apparently keep going north towards Rattlesnake Peak and Sunnyside Meadow.

Do you happen to save your GPS track logs? Me LOVES track logs... :D

GrizzlyGuy The best way up to Bunker Hill is to go in from the OHV Rd/trail to Poker Flat from Downieville. After the end of the FS rd. go up the hill till it flatten out to the left and hike up there. That the way I've been up it on a sled. It's steep but the shorts way up.
And to get to Rattlesnake Pk I'd go in from the First Divide and up Red Oak.
