Nice weekend to ride!

Postby hemingray » Sun May 12, 2013 7:43 am

Anyone else get out? I decided to go to the 43-44 road area just to get out. It's pretty familar so nothing really new or superscenic, but it was WARM up there, and the BUGS were ridiculous. But, at least it's riding. Despite the TNF road report saying the 43 road was still closed due to snow, it was open so I rode a little ways out on Soda Springs Road.

Middle Fork American above the confluence with the Rubicon River at Oxbow reservoir.

Dogwoods are blooming everywhere - still plenty of spring up there!

Gullying on the 44 road - not the first year for this. It seems the plan is for no maintenance. This is no issue for OHV, but this road is nearly impassable by stock 4WD because there is no maintenance. It's a shame to have a good road surface and just leave it to wash away. This is almost always due to clogged culverts.

Ridiculous lack of road maintenance - a two lane road reduced to one. This is the ENF 23 road, coming down Ralston Ridge. It's very steep and twisty and hard enough to negotiate by itself.

Does that mean the quad is almost running again?

Dang straight, I never ride if there is even a slight chance of precipitation because the rain makes my makeup run.
