Dayton Nv. Halloween Run
Dayton, Nevada (ElDorado Canyon area, elv. 4K-9K')- Oct. 28th-31st 2011... our 2nd annual Halloween Run
I was really lookin' forward to this trip... have not had Pedro out for a good riding session for nearly a couple months now!... Not to mention that the area near and around Dayton Nv. is pretty much my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE place to ride and camp!
The weather was pretty much PERFECT!
Lows in the mid 30's and highs right around 70*... rare for this part of Nevada just before November! (Nevada is pretty well known for its casino's, and also for its volatile weather... just like taking a roll of the dice, you never really know what your gonna' get!). Did I mention that it never rained, snowed, or hailed the whole time?!?!?! Not so much as a cloud in sight... PERFECT blue sky
Here is a small glimps from parts of the trip for your enjoyment -
Pedro Freshly Unloaded From The Truck (probably wont see him cleaner than this for the rest of the trip!)
One Of The First Trails We Rode Was Pretty Steep And Climbed Over 1.5K' In Elevation (2 BIG mountain ranges)
Near Como Mine, One Of The Vintage Relics Is The Cab Of An Old (40's?) Truck
Bullet Holes And Tagging Aside, There Is Not Much Left
Another Relic From Como Mine, Would Have Loved To Seen This Up-n-runnin' Back In The Day... (whatever it was?)
Rode Past An Old Horse/Cattle Corral (think rough cut posts and hand forged barbed-wire with a few jumbo square nails layin' around)
A Couple Scenic Shots
Rode Up The Top Of A Peak (7.4K') To Find Some Kind Of (cell?) Station
Another Scenic Pose Opportunity For Pedro
Possible Hieroglyphs On Rock Nearly Impossible To Get To
One Of Many Verticle Mine (vent?) Shafts Scattered Throughout The Area
The Somewhat Modern (50yr old?) Fence Was Pain-stakingly Installed To Keep Wild Horses, Humans, and Sasquatch Riding Grizzly's From Falling In
Speakin' Of Sasquatch... Has Anyone Seen Him Lately...?
The Sun Had Not Yet Retired, Though The Cheshire-Cat-Like Moon Was Already Grinning Upon Us
Lookin' For A Geocash Box... (and found it thanks to gps!)
Pedro Wanted His Pic Taken Again
Thats pretty much all the pix I remembered to take... hope you enjoy!

Re: Dayton Nv. Halloween Run
I think Yamaha should come out with a bigger atv and call it a Sasquatch make it like an 900 so we can refer to Pedro and Rider as Sasquatch. Some of the pics you take you should send to yamaha great sights and Pedro!

Re: Dayton Nv. Halloween Run
I rode out of Dayton earlier this year and i think i did that same steep road, the one i rode was following powerlines.
Perdo looks like a bad ass machine - must have some balls with the HMF pipe.
