race oct 9th prairie city

Postby Kodiak » Sun Oct 09, 2011 9:28 pm

well i was riding but it was my tag 125cc water cooled go kart today not my atv.
this was actually my first race ever and what a day.
my goal was to finish and get experience.
qualifying felt good. and then the times posted and my friend checked the times and said your not gonna believe this, you got the pole position by 0.026 of a second!!
WOW!!
so i started on the front row and was able to hold off the field in the pre-main event. but the guy who was in third passed for second and was the points leader for the series. the main was set i was starting first and he was on my outside in second :)
the main was 20 laps each about 34 seconds.
we got the green and his kart toook off he gapped me by almost a kart but braked a little early for the first turn. better yet watch this helmet go pro cam i was wearing
http://youtu.be/wjw5cKlxHYo

after he bumped me in turn 4 he spun out and i went on to win the MAIN!!
what a great day :) :D 8) =D> :P

thanks guys it was awesome :) i have been karting for about a year but i bought my kart this summer. such a blast. and so much cheaper than beating my poor mustang on track days.
dong worry i LOVE rock crawling and i plan on doing both for a long time, in one form or another.

here is the vid of the end of the first race

That's cool! Nice video - great to see how racing is vs. the tame Malibu Gran Prix in those little things.

Brian here is my thinking the race for my gokart with new tires and fuel and race fee was 300 bucks. Vs. Taking my mustang to thunderhill or Laguna seca which costs between 250-300 plus wear on brakes and the car. So for me its cheeper and just as fun if not more fun (cause I don't have to drive my kart to work on Mon) to race a go kart.
