Mr.Miyagi Fordyce Run Pix - Day 3
Posted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 3:26 pm
Day 3 was a trip through Fordyce... my first time doing any SERIOUS rock crawling, but I was in good company with several highly experianced riders to help me through which gave me additional confidence, so I went for it... the inside of my shorts still have the stains to prove it to!
Comming Down "Winch Hill 5?"
Pedro Is Not The Only Yamaha On This Ride
Waiting For The Rest Of The Group To Catch Up
Cool Tree At The Top
Time For Some BIG Rocks
Those Who Make It Down First Lend A Hand To The Next Rider
Already Past "Winch Hill 4?"... All Down Hill From Here (keep in mind we will be following this same trail on the way out!)
Angelo Breeze's Through Like A Pro As Usual
Okay, Who's Going Next?!?!
A Helping Hand Builds Confidence
This Is Nothing (2-finger assist?)...
Doesn't Look That Bad...
Other's Help To Insure No Injuries
Pedro Was 2nd or 3rd In Line Most The Time. I Was "Camera Man" On This Ride, Hence No Shots Of Me Riding...
Water Break! (wipe your @ss now if you need to!)
Next Up, "Winch Hill 3" (what have I gotten myself into?)
It's Not That Bad...
While We Were Workin' The Hill A Couple Nicely Set-up Wheeler's Came Up From The Opposite Direction To Pass Us
30 min. Later The Guy Was Wedged In There Pretty Good!
He Thought We Were Crazy For Trying To Ride This Trail On ATV's
We Thought He Was Crazy Too...
Shortly After, Thunder Started Booming Followed By Some Rain And Hail, So It Was Time To Get Back To Camp... All Up Hill From Here!
One Bike At A Time
Even Angelo Has A Hard Time Making This Spot Look Easy
Every Bike Needed Assistance On The Way Back
Including Brian "Mr. Green" Who Is The Bonsai Master!
Almost Up!
Everyone's Tuckered After Pullin' Rope
Thunder Sounds Awfully Close, We Better Pick Up The Pace
Everyone's Gettin' Pretty Soggy By Now
Trail Is Gettin' Slick... Those White Spots Are Chuncks Of Hail!
This Is The Last Pic I Took Because It Started Pourin' And I Didnt Want To Get The Camera Too Wet!
Needless to say, there was not a single dry spot on any rider by the time we made it back to camp! Everyone made the journey safely though and it was quite the experiance... one I will always remember!
I took some video on this ride as well, but I have not had a chance to edit or upload it yet... It was great to meet everyone, lookin' forward to the next run!
Hope you enjoy the pic's!
I posted these as well as a few shots from day 1&2 on Grizzly Riders forum also, here is a link -
