Mr.Miyagi Fordyce Run Pix - Day 3

Postby Sasquatch » Mon Sep 12, 2011 3:26 pm

Day 3 was a trip through Fordyce... my first time doing any SERIOUS rock crawling, but I was in good company with several highly experianced riders to help me through which gave me additional confidence, so I went for it... the inside of my shorts still have the stains to prove it to!

Needless to say, there was not a single dry spot on any rider by the time we made it back to camp! Everyone made the journey safely though and it was quite the experiance... one I will always remember!

I took some video on this ride as well, but I have not had a chance to edit or upload it yet... It was great to meet everyone, lookin' forward to the next run! 8)

Hope you enjoy the pic's!

I posted these as well as a few shots from day 1&2 on Grizzly Riders forum also, here is a link -

Very cool! That run on a quad is quite the experience. One I'll never forget either (I did it three Miyagi rides ago).

I'm sure Angelo was happy to finally have some company on a crawling ride! I am a little disappointed to not see the the Rzr Xp or Will on the Honda CRF in the pictures.

WOW what a great ride. i woke up early on sun parked at cisco grove and rode in on the trail to meet up with the rest of the guys at meadow lake.
the first obstacle was the committee crossing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPiR2pMNETI
then i blasted up the rest of the trail,
i decided to play it safe since i was alone and winch up the far left side of winch hill 3 (im still editing that vid)
then i cruised up the rest of the winch hills and met up with my slightly concerned friends at meadow lake, (i had gotten stuck behind a group of jeeps for about 20min, and i forgot to check in with my phone so they didn't know if i was floating down the river :)
coming back down was a blast i love watching first timers tackling fordyce. its really cool watching them figure out what their atv can do. Brian and Dave you guys did great.
heres a vid of brian going up a tricky rock next to the tree. "BRIAN LOCK THE FRONT DIFF" :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7t8ZKP4nNw
here is a vid of dave coming down winch hill 4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zq_zJtpZhk
then we made it to winch hill 3 which had changed a bit since last year to me it seemed a bit harder but as always was a blast

i missed scott going down wh3 but he sailed through as always.

Had a great time and it was very nice to meet everyone! Chuck is actually my wife's uncle, and Joe is Chuck's brother... they are 2 of the guy's I camp with in ElDorado Canyon out of Dayton Nv. every year... and they also had a great time, even though we scared them home after comming down winch hill 5

All the still shots were taken with a Canon SD1000... I also took a bit of video with a Contour 1080p HD helmet mounted camera and a Sony DCR-SX63 Handycam. I need more practice with taking good video though

WoW is right, I can't believe that you rode all the way up there from Cisco Grove, then turned around and rode all the way back down that monster. Epicidocious! =D>

Also would like to Thank Ken and Lori for a blast of a get together I hope to join again next year. I wish some one could have taken video of Mini Mike story My kids would have loved it .
