Dayton Nevada Pic's

Postby Sasquatch » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:23 am

Just got back from my annual ATV camping trip to Dayton Nevada.

I meet a bunch of friends and family there every year for a week long camping trip over Memorial Day weekend... this year was my 12th year straight without missing a trip!

I snapped off a bunch of pic's to share here so I could give everyone an idea of what the Nevada High Dessert looks like. There are hundereds of miles of trails, powerline roads, old logging skids, reminants of structures from the gold rush era, wild horses, ect... not to mention some awesome BBQ's and lots of beer consumption Elevation is between 5000 and 8000+ feet, and we even got 2 days of snow in camp this trip (W.T.H... its almost June )

This place is pretty much my absolute favorite area I have ever ridden, and I look foward to the trip each year

Hope you enjoy!

The camera angle didnt quite capture just how steep and rough that washout was... I made it through without help, but there was a split second where I had 3 out of 4 wheels off the ground

Yeah, anywhere with no snow on it looks inviting to me right about now.

Cool shots, Sasquatch. Especially the one of your Grizzly up on that wall-looking thingy. WTH is that?

We drive our vehicles about 4mi in which takes about 30min in a truck (only about 12min on an ATV)... where we set up camp is a nice spot with 100 year old cottonwood trees for shade and a fresh water spring that runs all year long. Unfortunatly I dont have any tracks yet... but they are on my wish list! Im eyeballin a set of Tatou4S... or were you referring to gps tracks?

Im still trying to figure out how to work my gps... I forgot to set a marker in camp, but I think it very close to these coordinates: N 39* 12.284' W 119* 34.098'
I have tracks from a couple of our rides but I not sure how to upload them from my gps...
