OR dunes Winchester Bay

Postby Mr. Green » Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:37 am

I recently went riding up to OR, but have been un~able to post any pics / vids since my computer crashed / failed (11 year's old lasted longer then most). I also lost all my music / pics so i only had one cd to make this video. This was my very first attempt with any type of video camera and my very first editing attempt so i have been struggling to say the least. This was only the second time I've ever rode in sand dunes, so im not doing any thing extreme even exiting to any one how has been dune'en. I'm still just learning and there are people that literally drop my jaw in amazement out there. O and after watching the video it would help if you know my camera is mounted on my left (driver) fender next to my head light, and as always it is steeper then it appears..

Of course i was blasting music out there specially when riding by my self. The camera i bought is a GoPro wide lens (stander-ed not hd) i wanted a gopro hd one but there $300+ and i ran into this one at Costco for 90 bucks so i just garbed it. The guy singing is one of my favorites its Hank Williams III.

Wow, that looks insanely fun! I haven't really thought much of sand - that changed my mind. Awesome! Great vids too - no need to get all fancy, the long runs let us see what it's like to ride there. Thanks!

Thanks for the complements guys.

I had never thought to much about dunes either but went there last thanksgiving just to try it out and ended up loving it. I can see my self going up 2-3 times a year specially when the Sierras get snowed in it looks better and better.

Just put up a video of me doing a slow sunset cruise on my first day up in Winchester, no hill climbs but gives a good over view of about 1/3 of the area. O and you can watch me break a belt on a tiny little drop off..

Nice video, you got some cool shots! Man that seems weird that evergreen trees would be growing out of a big sand dune.
