got out for a ride

Postby EigerMike » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:00 am

well blm510 and i went up to the west side for a little ride.was a very interesting day. still lots of snow up high but it was ridable for some of us  saw my first bear ever ,man it was big and fast! then we ride down the road a few miles and see a smaller bear hauling ass up a old skid road! we allso found a pathfinder off the beaten path. very strange there are no tracks to this car and its not on any road or trail.tags have been expired sence last sep  has note that says out of gas be back soon no date.this thing is so clean not a drop of dirt so i think its been there a while! anywas never had to use the saws untill the last couple of miles and then it was crazy! trees every where to late to turn around so we cut and cut ect! long day but very fun!

Wow, what an adventure! Bears, snow, trail clearing and stolen cars. It doesn't get any better than that.

Yay for the Husky! I am bringing the chainsaw on the first trip out too - it was a blustery winter for sure.

Thanks for the pix - cool ride!

Looking forward to it, Mike! You don't have the market cornered on bears: Angelo and I saw one today. Guess where? At Bear Valley OHV.

He was a small bear and wanted nothing to do with us. I got the camera out just as he disappeared. :(

I remember Terry and I were riding around Bowman Lake, and I came around the corner....and there was a bear.

The basic reaction as I slammed on the brakes...

OH SHIT! A BEAR!

and the bear's reaction

OH SHIT! A QUAD!

His lumpy butt ran as fast as he could........Terry and I were laughing.

great pic's as normal, and i always enjoy seeing bears (so far at least). I head up to to bucks lake ever year just to see some if i haven't for awhile. Looks like you guys had fun even with some trail clearing

On a side note:
If you guys are down we should run up to boca area ive seen some post on here about it recently. Ive rode around in my old truck around there and fish up there all the time but never atv'ed it. Or even head out to moonrocks in NV if you want to do some boulder pile playing mixed in with open riding of course.

Last year was bear year for me - 3 bears in as many rides in as many weeks. Same response by all parties as Ken describes. Before that, I had only seen 2 over something like 8 years of poking around in my truck.
