How far east did you go?

We probably went about 12 miles past China Wall staging...and hit 2 ridges and went the full length, till we couldn't go anymore.

I'm bummed...have to take them off next weekend. :(

Definitely a two-person trip, as we see from the pictures! Me and my solo cruising would not work well there, crashing into creeks and all!

I went through a watercraft desire last year, since we got rid of our boat. But if I was able to get something seasonal, I think it would have to be a sled. ATV in summer, sled in winter, riding in the same areas...

Ah, perchance to dream...

Thanks.

It's a great ATV camera...trust me...I've gone through about 5 of them. It's the Olympus Stylus 10MP. It's the waterproof, shock resistant...etc. I've had it now for almost 3 years...that's like WAY beyond what my other Canon cameras lasted.

The last picture was, ken was riding over a small creek and broke through the snow bridge. I wish I took a picture but ken got off his atv and fell into that hole and was at his shoulders in the snow. I had to help him get out.

It was a little scary, and had Scott. If I was alone, it would have been easy to freak out. We should have taken a picture, but we straight into trying to extract me mode. My foot broke through the 5+ feet of snow. But I still couldn't touch the ground. I could wiggle my foot freely, but couldn't touch the creek water. When I first tried to pull my leg up, my 14" high snow boots nearly got pull off. If it had come off, getting it back would have been next to impossible. So I slowed down, started wiggling my foot, trying to make hole bigger. Once out it took 5 min to winch out. When I turned around, I drove over it FAST.

BTW. I always take the pictures at full resolution(least compressed) and 10 megapixels. The files are huge, but then I use a batch software to reduce them down to 800x600. That process is key, especially with JPG source photos. You are compressing an already compressed format, unlike a RAW or BMP source. If you compress the JPG too much, the end picture loses too much color. It was really trial and error to reduce the file size, but maintain the quality.

I keep the originals, just in case I want one for a desktop background for my 27" monitor. 800x600 blown up 1920x1460 would look like shit.
