That second shot is unbelievably cool. At first I thought a tsunami was coming up behind you! Or maybe crop the end of the dam out of the third one and it would really look like you're outrunning the big wave.

Definitely a cool place!
In case you are interested in history:
The US Army Corps of Engineers-owned 24-foot-high Daguerre Point Dam on the Yuba River was built in 1906 to prevent hydraulic mining debris from washing into the Feather and Sacramento Rivers. The dam was equipped with two fish ladders in 1937 that Chinook salmon and steelhead have difficulty, under certain flow conditions, locating and navigating. The dam was rebuilt in 1964 following damage from floods. The dam currently provides hydraulic head for upstream diversions.

Thanks for the shot of the fish ladder! I guess there's a fight going on over removing that dam as well as Englebright Dam further upstream. It will be pretty hard to get that done though!
Yep, history is fun to see out there on the ATV trail if you know where to find it. It's also fun to just look into history as you are doing with the Alaska highway!
I try to take pictures too, like many others here, as we explore! It's my favorite part of ATVs. I guess a bike would be OK too, but I prefer 4 wheels...

For you guys who like history and maybe need a "fix" since ATV-TV was canceled, check out Ghost Rider's stuff like the one on his home page here (from a Utah TV show):
http://GhostRiderFilms.net/
He has more here:

And this one has some cool special effects:

Chris is a real inspiration for me, I keep telling him that one of these days I'll try making a history type of ATV video. Of course mine would suck while his certainly don't, so I haven't gotten around to it just yet.
