I have this Topo map program now if anyone wants it. . . it is the true USGS maps that you get, great quailty and the entire State of california. . .

I had the National Geographic topo maps... thought they were pretty good til I found MapTech (http://www.maptech.com). Same price, FAR superior map quality.

They're still USGS maps, but Maptech has taken the time to clean up all of the maps so that they're actually legible... plus their program has more features.

I highly recommmend the Maptech maps. So far, I have CA, NV, MT, and Northern ID.

how many cd's does this take up? I would be interested in getting a copy and playing with them if they are better than the NG series.

How many CDs??? Bahahaha.... NV is 7, CA is 15, MT is 10, N-ID is 3. Plus there's the installer CD and two elevation data CDs.

Give me a years worth of lead/planing time, and i'll get my ass out that way somehow for a trip like that!
