Just purchased: New 2008 Brute Force 750i (Fuel Injected)

Postby BruteForce » Fri Mar 20, 2009 5:00 am

Since I've now put $4000 in repairs into my 2005, I thought it was time to get a new machine.

I compared differences between the 2009 and 2008 models and the only two differences were: slight change in the color (plastic options) in the 2009 and a new ignition module.

Those differences did not warrant a base price differences of $6999 (2008) -v- $8300 (2009).

So, I put my deposit down, had them start the installation on a 2.5 Warn winch, heated grips/throttle and hope to pick it up today.

After I get the machine, I'll start to take the add-ons off my 2005 (tires/TigerTail, Fuel pack, rack bag, etc) and put them on the 2008.

My 10 year old gets the 2005 for his 11th birthday on 1 April. With the stock tires, the machine is still a bit big for him, but since he only rides with me, it should be fine.

I'm sure I was on the receiving end of a severe ass-raping by the service manager.

Drop off the machine for clutch shimming and later receive a call that my entire clutch needs work, rear axle & bearings are shot and the non-serviceable oil-bathed brakes are worn out! :?

I won't be using them again. SOUTH VALLEY MOTORSPORTS in DRAPER, Utah.

Bruteforce I will be interested in a review on your new quad...I would like to know how it compares to your 2005. Ride, engine, Power, handeling, fuel mileage, or anything else you can think of.

Thanks DAVE

I'm closing in on 8000 miles on the 2005. Still runs good (after all the repair work), lost a bit of power - possibly due to the bigger tires.

I'm real curious to see the power/performance difference between carburetor -v- fuel injected. I'm picking up the new machine this morning and hope to take both out shortly afterward.

After much deliberation, I finally decided to go out and purchase a new Brute Force 750i (Fuel Injected).

Went riding today on the 2005 in the Five Mile Pass area (probably did more hiking than riding), then packed up and drove North to Full Throttle in Centerville to pay for and load up the new machine.

Since there was really no difference (except color options and Ignition module) between the 2008 and 2009 Kawasaki Brute Force 750, I bought the 2008 (.1 miles on the odometer), had an AT25 WARN winch installed and heated grips/throttle.

After getting the new machine home, I started to take all my add-ons off the 2005 (TigerTail, rear rack back, tires, GPSr mount, SPOT mount, etc) -- when I noticed the front & rear racks on the 2008 were not quite the same as the 2005.

In fact, the entire front bumper and racks are different. Quite honestly, I prefer the 2005 setup. The front bumper is far more beefy and has more steel (as opposed to plastic).

A few comparison photos:

Interestingly, after taking all the add-on's off the 2005, I felt no noticeable power loss on the 2008, and saw a power-gain on the 2005.

The 2008 has a more noticable TURBINE like sound and more electronic noise upon turning the key than the 2005.

The 2008 (due to Fuel Injection) definately has more top-end in comparison to the 2005.

Should be interesting to get my son on the 2005 and see how they handle.
