lt230 help needed

Postby crazy86 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:40 pm

well i got a 1986 lt230 sport and ive been having some problems with it. first of all i bought it in maryland and i live in kentucky so there is a altitude difference ( dont know if it makes a diff or not). it smokes white smoke. and when you give it gas it sputters and dies. it was bored .30 over before i bought it and only has twelve hours on it since it was bored. what are things i need to check or do to get this thing running right? any help is appreciated.

sounds like a choke issue or could just be bad gas maybe a bad fuel filter
could be a number of things but white smoke can indcate bad rings as well

If it's water cooled, you probably have a bad head gasket. White smoke is normally water vapor.

This was the best I could find...

Keep Googling.

It's in the UK, but it's the real deal.
