It's been 9 years since founding ATVOBSESSION rider Terry Reid passed on to his own heaven as a Chipmunk, trying to avoid getting hit. This year will mark the 10th annual ATV ride at Meadow Lake. This is our one annual ride, so please come out...meet everyone..put a face to a board name. Even if you can only come for 1 day....we would love to see you.

We will also celebrate the life of Chadd (with 2 d's) Burroughs.

SEPT 18, 19 and 20.

EVERYONE from any location is well come. The road is dirt, and slow going...but trailers are not a problem.

Location: Meadow Lake

Directions:
From HWY 80

North on Hwy 89
(Toward Sierraville) (RESET odometer at exit)
14.7 miles Turn Left at Jackson Meadows
(Sign before turn says Weber Lake, Independence Lake and Jackson Meadows)
Go EXACTLY 9.5 miles (just past Weber Lake) turn left toward Meadow lake.
It's 11.1 Miles to Meadow Lake.
(The road turns to dirt in about 100 yards.)

From Sierraville on 89
Turn right at Jackson Meadows and repeat above.

Will...can you believe it's been 9 years? He's been dead 3 times longer than he was part of ATVOBSESSION.

Wow, that's crazy. :( At least we are able to get together every year, have some great rides, and tell stories about him. Kind of keeps him alive in a funny way.

That was my intent....Keep Terry around in spirit...as long as we're around....nobody will forget Terry.

No reservations, show up and grab a spot. There is a camp host who collects fees, but as I recall, it's dependent on whether the camp host is still there (or whether people want to stay outside of the campsites and avoid the fees.)

It's mostly single spots, but all within a fairly compact area near the lakeshore. It's NOT the OHV group camp on the hill above, you continue along the road to the lakeshore, then follow it around until you come to the Summit City signs, then turn left into the campsite - in the trees at the shoreline. If it's busy, there's a spot near the big concrete pad on the right ("the dance floor"), which works also. It's a bit of a free-for-all really.

The coordinates are: N39.40781° W120.50174°

PG&E Description:

A beautiful high elevation lake is the setting for Meadow Lake Campground in the Tahoe National Forest. Run by Pacific Gas and Electric Co., the campground features 15 rustic sites and an additional 10 along the shoreline. Small trailers and campers can be accommodated, and there are tables, grills and vault toilets. Meadow Lake is a great spot for fishing and swimming, and an unpaved boat launch allows for boating (small craft only). For experienced off roaders, the nearby Fordyce Jeep Trail is a 11.9 mile thrill ride.

Directions: From I-80 at Truckee; take exit Hwy 89 towards Sierraville, go approximately 14.7 miles. Turn left at Forest Service Road 07 aka Fiberboard Road. Look for sign to Webber Lake and travel 9.5 miles. Turn left onto Forest Service Road 86 aka Meadow Lake Road (dirt road) continue for 9.4 miles to reach Meadow Lake.

So it turns out I have a major calendar conflict for that weekend. I'm not at all happy about this. Going to have to miss this one. I've enjoyed going to all of the previous Miyagi weekends. Had fun and enjoyed hanging out with great guys. I'll be there at Miyagi 11 next year. But now that I finally got my RZR, let's get together another weekend, soon!

Wow, with only 10 days before the ride, it's looking like a small turn out unless a lot of members just aren't posting that they're going.
