Ham Class in October - GET ON IT

Postby Ken » Thu Aug 02, 2012 12:51 pm

I will be teaching another class in October 2012. Space is limited so if you are interested in taking the class, email John Arenz at John.Arenz@RubiconTrailFoundation.org. John has started a list. At Jamboree this past week I was approached by several people wanting this class after Rachel's rescue.

Hi Ken,
do you have a rough estimate of total cost involved.
class_______
permits if needed,____
annual charge if any______
cost of all equipment starting with no ham equipment_________
that would help.________

thanks

p.s. would this be a way to communicate with the main pit during KOH?

The class is usually $15 for the cost of the test. If you fail, you'll need to pay another 15 to retake it.

The book is about 30 and radio...the FT-60 is around 150.

I don't know about KOH. I didn't bring mine....so I didn't pay attention.

The Ham class is a must do. You will learn alot other than the basic ham things.

That's right. Pretty soon everyone will be using their new winch/tires/whatever money to buy one of these instead:

and riding/hiking it to Miyagi-night-ride destination summits up above Meadow Lake just to let other guys around the world put that summit in their log:

Yes, you get into radio too much and the offroading ends. It's a sad story...

Any new classes planned? Looked into the SOTA stuff and it looks fun. Should I get a study guide for a starting point?
Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

The last class was in April. The next one will be on October.

Go to QRZ.net....and take the practice tests...OVER and OVER. No need to even know WHY it's the answer....

I will be teaching another class in October 2012.
If you ever decide to teach one in the future let us know, my Flux Capacitor is all jacked up right now and I don't think I'll be able to have it sorted out in time
