Today's forecast view. I don't mind the rain, but I'm bringing a rainsuit now - just in case we get some deluges.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CURRENTLY IN WESTERN NEVADA WILL SLOWLY DRIFT BACK TOWARD CENTRAL CALIFORNIA FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS NEAR THE SIERRA CREST WILL DISSIPATE THIS EVENING...THEN BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD AND DEVELOP FARTHER WEST TOWARD THE FOOTHILLS OR POSSIBLY THE CENTRAL VALLEY FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR DRY LIGHTNING OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS BUT STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME WETTER LATER THIS WEEKEND. WHILE STORMS MAY CONTAIN WETTING RAINS BY SUNDAY...LIGHTNING STRIKES ARE ALWAYS POSSIBLE AWAY FROM RAIN CORES. ADDITIONALLY AS THE LOW TRACKS BACK TOWARDS CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE NORTHERN SACRAMENTO VALLEY AND SURROUNDING FOOTHILLS. THESE WINDS WILL BEGIN EARLY FRIDAY AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM FRIDAY TO 11 PM PDT SATURDAY. *

Holy Moley!

I got raingear and a tarp already loaded... I've been "exposed" to similar storms while camping in Dayton Nv... worst case scenario I sleep in the cab of my truck.

Thanks for the heads up!
ill be trying to make it for sure, i can never say for sure tell its closer sadly. If i make it though id like to show my appreciation for the last trip and ill cover a diner for every one, and most likely a breakfast but i can never say 100% for a breakfast since i may be a a little slow in the mornings....
As i said before ill cover a diner and maybe a breakfast. Well I picked up some stuff to do spaghetti / garlic bread one night, and bacon /egg /beagle sandwiches one morning. Im shooting to get up there Friday night... but cant say yet for sure. Ill be there tell Monday though.

No idea on how many are coming but i can handle any size for diner but breakfast i only have enough stuff for about 12-13 people.

Count me out on the beagle sandwiches. I prefer a nice thin sliced PLT. Poodle, lettuce and tomato. Mmmmm.

Especially where the poodle is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe....

(I keep looking at that bacon/egg/beagle thing and wonder WTF was he thinking???)

ahh, you got the movie!

Yeah, that's a classic. I also love the way Carol Kane delivers it when some comes into the scene with the "Liaaaaaaar!"

My two favorites from Inigo:

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

and

"He's right on top of us. I wonder if he is using the same wind we are using."

Weather has been great. Mosquitos are still vicious.

We are at a camp next to our regular spot. Closer to lake. The camp host used to stay there.

Were you there?

;-)

Thanks to Ken for organizing the ride, it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I could hang out for awhile. Next year - camping or else.

With all the rumored goings on, I can neither confirm nor deny that I was actually there. ;-)

You camping? Will you also be bringing the flying pigs??

Yeah Ken, you and Lori did good and it was a blast! Er... so I hear.
