Ok.

The board will be upgraded FOR REAL!! I have everything done, except for the conversion of old data. I plan on doing that tonight after the DVD party.

IMPORTANT

There will be a NEW URL!!!!! The old URL will not work. The reason is, in order to upgrade, without messing up the current board, I need to install to a new folder.

If you have setup the board to favorites and you go straight there, the new URL is

http://www.atvobsession.com/forum/index.php

OR GO TO THE HOME PAGE AND CLICK FORUM to get the new URL.

I could see 2 hours on a call if it was Vbulletin since they support their product via the phone (but then we would all have to purchase *'s)

but the board he posted was newer PHPbb

Interesting. We have migrated about a half a dozen sites from phpBB 2.x to 3.x, and experienced minimal issues.

Do you have any hacks installed, Ken?

I have only 1....the VIP code to stop the Russian/Nigerian spammers.

It's a 1and1 issue...I think. The error message was the internal server resources were exceeded. The DB was about 23MB...not super huge.

They tried to parse the DB....and it didn't work.

They recommend taking the DB offline....upgrading it and then uploading the end result. I'm tired just thinking about it.... I working on a 60TB Database by day at work.....dealing with this is pretty far down my list.

It will....

The problem is...the way the host has the server configured....the upgrade times out.

So...While I have the Racer X board upgraded.....Tom is going pull this board on to his server, and upgrade the board there...where he has control over resources...and then move it back.
