Rubicon Discusson on The Radio Today (June 25)

Postby Ken » Wed Jun 25, 2008 9:15 am

On FM 90.5 there will be a discussion of OHV use on the Rubicon Trail at 2PM.

* Tom Celio, El Dorado Department of Transportation
* Bill Marshall, Program Manager, Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
* Randy Burleson, President, Rubicon Trail Foundation
* Karen Schaumbach, Director, Public Employees for Environmental responsibility

Interestingly, Karen Schaumbach isn't using her Sierra Closures credentials.

Well, that was interesting.

So Karen wants the trail returned to 1920s condition so she can drive her "hard wheeled" milk truck on it eh..

Yeah...pretty funny.

And the trail smells of fluids.....that's a first.

She said the little sluice was like a Monster Truck Rally....and said it should be returned so that normal vehicles can ride the trail....BUT she also said the amount of people there was unsustainable.

So....one hand...make it easier for greater access, other hand...limit use.
