Welcome to the official information of the 2nd Annual Mr. Miyagi Memorial. I hope everyone has had the dates on their calendar.

Remember EVERYONE, ANYONE is invited.

Unfortunately, there has been some confusion with the "closure", and I put that in quotes, of the Tahoe National Forest. I'm ending the confusion right now.

We are once again having this at Meadow Lake. I have downloaded the forest closure map from the USFS and THE ONLY trail closed around Meadow Lake is the Fordyce. That's it! Some "closure" huh?

There are SO MANY trails and road around this area....we could ride every day and explore new areas....and we will. This is going to be a real adventure type ride. We will plan on just riding and going "Ooh...let's go left and see where it goes!" The majority of the riding is novice to moderate. There's a few 4WD rides, but most is exploring type riding.

Dates: September 14, 15 and 16 (Friday, Sat, Sun)
Location: Meadow Lake

Directions:
From HWY 80

North on Hwy 89
(Toward Sierraville) (RESET odometer at exit)
14.8 miles Turn Left at Jackson Meadows
(Sign before turn says Weber Lake, Independence Lake and Jackson Meadows)
Go EXACTLY 9.7 miles (just past Weber Lake) turn left toward Meadow lake.
(There is no sign for Meadow lake...just a sign about fees at the lake, message board and blue 301 Forest Service Sign.)
It's 11.1 Miles to Meadow Lake.
(The road turns to dirt in about 100 yards.)

From Sierraville on 89
Turn left at Jackson Meadows and repeat above.

Exactly camp location at the lake unknown at the moment...but turn left at the Summit City sign...concrete dance floor on the right...we'll be somewhere on the left.

This is for Terry! Remember to get a physical this year!

Guys,

I've done my due diligence on this. I've got the latest map from TNF.

Please note, the ONLY GREEN trail is the Fordyce Creek Trail. This pretty much makes this whole forest order even more BS, but it is what it is.

All the red roads are dirt around Bowman and Meadow Lake. Once you get to the Red Roads at the top of Jackson Meadows, that is paved at the dam.

As you can see...there's TONS of exploring.

Well I'll be gosh-darned-danged, good work Ken! I swear that map wasn't available for download when they first announced the latest fire restrictions. Or maybe I just missed it. :? There is a link to it from the bottom of this page for anyone else that wants to download it:

Looks like the fun little spur trail that heads out toward Baltimore Lake from the top of the Fordyce Creek trail is also a greenie, but there sure are plenty of roads still open.

Its FINE - Dusty brought his toy hauler in there last year - no problems with the trailer I have either..

Come on get happy..

Side note, with the impending birth of our daughter. Kim in her infinite wisdom granted me the ability to get a cool toy. A new HD camcorder..

Want to have some fun this year!!

Everyone, includes you.

Road = Fine. Sure, there maybe some spots...but they were logging last year and it was a freeway.

Getting a trailer/RV there isn't a problem. There's some tight corners and rough spots, but it's fine. They get refrigerated semis in there there for Sierra Trek...

do not make the same mistake I did last year. . .

Bring enough water. . .

there is enough road room to get in without a problem. . . it is a little tight in a couple spots and a little bumpy, so make sure you tie things down inside. . .

Last year when I went in it was around 1AM and no moon. I almost went up the Fordyce trail with the Excuration and trailer in tow. I had no idea where I was going.

Is that banjo music I hear playing..........LMAO!!

My trailer holds 110 gallons of fresh water, and it will be full. This last trip, the 3 of us only used a 1/4 tank and that was with showers on both days. We should be fine. Might have to drain the gray water, it filled up pretty quickly.

The road cannot be any worse than that goat trial outside Plumas Park. :facialtick:

Dang, you guys camp in style, even when you're just camping on your trailer!

The last time I went ATV camping, dinner started out like this:

Turned into this:

And "ended up" looking about the same.

Good thing the silver bottle contained a strong Tequila-based homebrew mixture, else I wouldn't have gotten a wink of sleep. :)

Ewwww, nice visual!!

Something about me and camping, I seem to have the same problem no matter what I eat. Very annoying when there's no porcelin around.
