Well my daughter is 8 but my wife is not all that into camping (she'll do it from time to time) and since we just moved in she wants to work around the house. I will be getting quads for them in the future and then they would want to come.

For those wondering about the fire restrictions in TNF. This is from the announcement made off their website;

"Rationale for Initiating Increased Fire Restrictions on the Tahoe National Forest
This year, the precipitation for the east and west side of the TNF is generally 50-75 % of normal. Coupled with a dry spring, fire conditions are far worse than normal. Moisture levels in the dead vegetation in mid June were less than kiln dried lumber and the green vegetation registers the lowest levels of moisture ever recorded for the area (about 30 years). In addition, fire conditions for areas south of the TNF are even worse due to extreme drought conditions.
The Angora Fire in South Lake Tahoe is an illustration of how explosive the fire conditions are. The potential for wildfires throughout California could stretch firefighting resources beyond current capacity. TNF went into the first level of fire restrictions in early June and additional restrictions as conditions worsened on July 2.
Campfires – Restricted to those sites that have water systems, metal fire rings, and campground hosts or concessionaires that are on site and can take immediate action if a campfire is left unattended and/or escapes. Escaped, abandoned campfires are one of the biggest causes of wildfires (by humans) in the TNF."

So.. We be O'Tay. And "if" I can make it up there that weekend I WILL bring some wood up.

Can you collect wood out there or not? If I go (and I think I am) I could bring my chainsaw but I'm not sure of the restrictions on things like these.

Well with as many people going as they say they are it won't take long for a big group to go on a wood hunt. I will volunteer to stay back and watch the camp for prowlers :lol:

We'll have plenty then, I have enough to fill a truck bed in fencing alone.

Ken - if you're going up Thur night and want wood, jsut stop over and we'll toss some in the bed of your truck.

I drove up to Meadow Lake and couldn't find anybody. :( The camp host said there was no riding allowed on the trails, only on the main roads. So I figure you folks made a plan 'B' and went some place else. Unless I missed something, which wouldn't be the first time that happened :D
