The only riding open to ATV's are the county and fire truck accessible roads. I was referred to their website to download a map, but haven't done that yet. I know that we are all looking forward to riding this weekend. I haven't been to this area, are there lots of county/fire truck roads for us to ride?

Trust me! These guys know exactly what is accessible and there's a ton of great riding. Ask Ken... he broke his A-Arm there just recently. Turned my quad into a 2 up in a hurry!! Don't forget to bring the swim suits, great lake to cool off and relax after a long day on the "roads"...

Look forward to meeting ya'll!!

Great, thanks Lori for the info on the trails in the Meadow Lake area. As I said, we've never been to the area and are looking forward to riding and meeting all of you too.

Happy trails,
Carrie and Loren

As a clarification for the latest copy of that map, the black and red lines are OPEN. The green lines are CLOSED. Go figure why they decided that green, which normally means GO, is used to mean CLOSED (as in STOP) in this map.

I just finished exchanging emails with the USFS. We have the green light to remove a large tree blocking a FS road that I found 2 weeks ago. It's a big 'un...I'll have my chainsaw, but it's not huge...it would take 2 cuts. We may have to cut this 2 times (3 pieces) to get it off.

Off the top of my head, we'll need

1) large chain saw or a couple smaller ones
2) 2 Snatch blocks (I have 1)
3) Cable (I have cable)
4) Tree saver (I don't have a good one)
5) fire extinquisher

We'll do this project on Saturday morning.....I sent them a photo and map with the location, and they were thrilled we were taking care of it. I sent them a plan and told them we would provide them photos of the completed job. There were surprised...yes, they were surprised that we do this for them. So I think some ATV Goodwill will help.

With the fire restrictions, the only caveat was no chainsaw off the road base...That won't be a problem.

I have a 20" bar Husky, snatch block and fire extinguisher.

I also have a nylon tow strap that we can use for a tree saver.

How big is said tree??

Perhaps someone should bring a real saw, that looks a little more than a 20" tree. OK I have a little Husky I can throw in, probably take that out in a single pass with a foot to spare......cuz size matters
