North on Hwy 89
(Toward Sierraville) (RESET odometer at exit)
14.8 miles Turn Left at Jackson Meadows
(Sign before turn says Weber Lake, Independence Lake and Jackson Meadows)
Go EXACTLY 9.7 miles (just past Weber Lake) turn left toward Meadow lake.
(There is no sign for Meadow lake...just a sign about fees at the lake, message board and blue 301 Forest Service Sign.)
It's 11.1 Miles to Meadow Lake.
(The road turns to dirt in about 100 yards.)

From Sierraville on 89
Turn left at Jackson Meadows and repeat above.

Exactly camp location at the lake unknown at the moment...but turn left at the Summit City sign...concrete dance floor on the right...we'll be somewhere on the left.

Don't forget the directions if you've never been. There is NO SIGN at the Meadow Lake turn off!!! Use my odometer readings and you will be fine.

is this the only way to get there is from Truckee? if I am coming from chico is there a different way you would suggest of just come to Grass Valley, up Hwy 20 to 80?

You could come from the other direction on 89, Sierraville...I think you'd go Hwy 70 to 89.

But I'm not sure if that's faster than going 20, 80, 89.

I think the quickest is through Oroville, cut across to 20, up 20 to 80, and then in 89. I ran some routes and time wise it's the quickest, and that was without editing in short cuts.

Chico to Meadow
99-70-89 is 153 miles, 4 hours 26 minutes
99-20-80-89 132 miles 3 hours 45 minutes

The shortest is down through Oroville, cut up through Rackerby, over Bullards Bar, down 49, then up Henness Pass. That's 120 miles and 3 hours 41 minutes, enjoy the ride......the long winding ride

NO THANKS. . . will stick to 70-20-80-89. . . all pretty straight roads except for part of 20, but hwy 49 would be slow, but then again I would be able to go through the area we got pulled over for riding on the road. . .

Actually...I was on it a month ago....and it's a freeway.

They're logging right now...so it was all compacted and smooth.

Ken, just checking are you SURE we can burn - is this a developed campground that meets current fire restrictions..

I'm only SURE, based on my knowledge from a month ago. I'm not super up on the precise FS rules....but I know, under most circumstances you can burn in a USFS built fire pit...which, they have there.

The only way to be "sure", would be to call the USFS. I do have a fire permit, so no one needs that.

OK called TNF - they said we can brun in 3 of the campgrounds at meadow lake.

The Group, Shore line and other one (can't remember the name)

so we be okey dokey.

Sorry bout the "SURE" thing ken - with the fire looming in our back yard - kinda paranoid right now.
