The Eagle's Nest

Postby BearCat » Mon Apr 10, 2006 5:04 am

Seriously...Family in British Columbia sent me this today...Kinda Cool.

Click on the site below - it goes to a LIVE camera set up on Hornby Island, BC and is aimed at an eagles' nest. The female and male eagles take turns on the nest. Don't know how long it will be until the little ones hatch but that will be interesting to watch as well.

During daylight hours (Pacific) checkout this site. A guy on Hornby Island hung a web cam above an Eagles nest and is broadcasting live during the day. The clarity is really great. You may have to copy and paste to your browser.

Very Cool. Two years ago we were in Yellowstone and there was a Bald Eagle nesting in a snag along the road in the park. It was an area where the fires had pretty muched devastated everything, all that was in the area was some short new growth and this 40 foot tall snag. The Park Service had the area marked "No Stopping, No Parking". On the way by you could see the Eagle's head sticking up, but nothing else.
